Ladies, you know that time of the month when you start craving everything and eating anything? well, that was this weekend for me. Kenny the Great, appeased all my cravings, for example- we had pancakes from I-HOP, mexican food, cheeseburgers, cinnamon rolls and pop tarts. (Well, Kenny didn't touch the pop tarts with a ten foot pole, who am I kidding)
Attention: the new cinna-stack pancakes from I-HOP are out of this world. Seriously. As soon as the ice on the roads melts, everyone rush to i-hop, where you will without a doubt think you are in Heaven. On Earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.
For CHRISTMAS the Dorr family has a tradition of making Christmas morning cinnamon rolls. The are stuffed with cream cheese and delicious. Well, here is the BYRD family spin on things, and with no special occasion in mind- just that we had quite the sweet tooth.

You take the biggest thing of Grands cinnamon rolls, unroll them and lace them with cream cheese. Put a big chunk in the middle. Melt a stink of butter and drown them in the goodness. |
And put as much icing on them as you possibly can. If it isn't enough mix in some cream cheese.
As you can imagine, they took 3 years off of our life, but they were delicious. However, it was not the star of the show like you would imagine. Kenny and I have made these burgers twice now and they are delicious. My new favorite person is Ina Garten who writes the BAREFOOT CONTESSA cookbooks. Write that name down and go amazon.com you a couple of cookbooks. Everything we have made from her cookbook is mouthwatering DELICIOUS. This recipe came from her 'how easy is that?' cookbook, and the girl doesn't lie, they are so easy to make. So, please ladies and gents, if you have nothing to eat tonight make these guys, they are easy and will put a little twist on your regular hamburger, but they aren't weird, I don't do weird, don't worry.
the ingredients:
2 pounds extra lean ground beef
3 tablespoons good olive oil
1 tablespoon dijon mustard
1 tablespoon minced garlic
6 oz grated Gruyere cheese
Mix all the goodness up (except the cheese) in a bowl and patty out the meat. slice the cheese and put on top of the burgers once they are on the grill. To spice things up put them on mini brioche, onion or just regular buns. Add all your favorite fixings (lettuce, onion, tomato, mustard, ketchup, errthing) and I promise you will love this burger.
This is Kenny's 'I'm so full from delicious hamburgers' face not to be confused with his 'why is my wife taking so many pictures of me, she's cra-cra' face
