A Delightfully Frigid Weekend

Forget Fall up here in Virginia, it is winter. We have had to pull out the sweatpants, winter coats, and yes, even the Uggs. Chaco has never seen cold weather so I think he thinks we are playing so cruel joke on him. So, while the leaves start changing and the neighbors continue to booger up their yards with graves, ghosts, and eyeballs floating in the trees it feels like we should be singing Christmas carols and drinking eggnog.
Friday night we had friends over, I don't think this group has ever gotten together and their hasn't been massive amounts of food involved. So, naturally, we ate dinner and just enjoyed their company. And, I took pictures!! Yay!
I captured Brittany, in all her glory, chowing down on her husband's apple pie. Well really everyone in this picture is focused on their piece of pie.
This cute couple is Zack and Kat. They move really soon (ah, the life of the CG) so we are trying to see them as much as possible, because they are so fun. You can read Kat's blog here. We military wives love to blog.
Another shot of the pie eaters. The couple to the left are the Brian and Brittany Kelley. Kenny and I were just talking last night about how I don't really laugh at much expect for him. But this girl right here can make me laugh all day. It is at this point I would give you her blog address but she doesn't have one. She is a number crunching, business woman and doesn't have times for a silly blog.
Just a shot of the other end of the table. I caught the Booth couple having a sweet moment. Ah, I just love to capture little sweet moments. Yes, we fit 9 people around our 4 person table. It was a little tight.
And these guys right here are Kris and Nicole Samuelson. Nicole is a total chef baker and is practically famous around here for her cupcakes. You'll see a picture in a little bit. Not to mention she is just plain awesome.
Aren't they just as cute as they can be?
Yeah, I know. Your mouth is watering. Did I mention they were filled with cream cheese?
A candid of Kat taken by the one and only Brittany.
I'd say the night ended successfully with Kris on our sofa and Chaco snuggled right up on his neck.

Saturday and Sunday we napped/rested/slept/laid in bed/watched football/snuggled with the puppies.. you get the idea. We were so lazy. All I have to show for this weekend is that we made a pumpkin pie.

Thought it would be better with some ice cream.
Then decided we also needed some whipped cream.

It was a wonderful, relaxing weekend just what we needed because Kenny has a really busy week at work and I am heading to LA to visit Martie and Tori this weekend!!

Happy (freezing) Monday!!
