6 months!

Sometime last week I got a call from my mom saying that my twin brother Luke is now getting married on our family beach trip, July 22nd. Needless to say planning two weddings in a year was a little stressful for my mom, so she flew me down to Alabama and within a few short days, we are ready for another wedding. I had a blast going home and getting to spend time with my family, as always. I miss doing everything with my mom, and staying up late and laughing with my sisters- which makes it so much more special when I get to do it nowadays.

I came back from Alabama on our 6 month anniversary; can you believe Kenny and I have been married 6 months?! On one hand it feels like it has flown by, but at the same time it feels like I have known him my whole life. Either way, it has been the best six months of my life for sure!!

The excitement of me coming home was too much for baby Chaco.

When Kenny picked me up at the airport, I had no idea the surprises that awaited for me. Before we went home, we went to a sporting goods store and I got some tennis shoes, this killer Nike top I almost drooled on the first time I saw it and a newly restrung racquet. Then we headed home where another surprise waited. You need the background story for these next few pictures- for a couple of weeks now I have wanted to start some kind of furniture business. I love redoing furniture, giving it a new look and saving lots of mula. So I have decided to start redoing pieces and trying to sell them. Who knows maybe on Facebook, or Craigs List, the DC farmer's market and antiques stores, we will see. I have avoided telling you so in case I failed the world wide web would not know, but where is the fun in that? So, now you know. All that to say, Kenny had cleaned out and organized our storage shed and turned it into a work place for me. He went to some yard sales picked up some things and got me a power painter!!! You have NO idea how many hours this will save instead of painting stroke after stroke layer after layer of paint! I have  walked past them at Lowe's and just daydreamed about owning one, and thanks to my super sweet husband, I am now a proud owner of one.

Here are some the yard sale finds-

And here is my nifty shelf of paint set up by the one and only Kenny B, complete with paint, primer, gloss finish, white spray paint, brushes, and brush cleaner, ah! He has my heart!

That night we went into Old Town to eat at our favorite place, the Light Horse. We got our usuals- crab cake for Kenny and veggie penne for me and then we had to celebrate with a cookie dough pie with ice cream. I wish I could say we were that couple that could share a desert and just nibble on it over casual conversation and leave half of it because we were so full. Unfortunately, that will never be us. As soon as they brought our deserts I don't think we looked up from our plates until every last morsel was gone.

Sunday morning we slept late and watched movies, and of course played some tennis. Even though it wasn't a whole weekend together it was perfect.  Oh, in case you didn't know Kenny can serve up the meanest thing of French Toast you ever seen. It is desert for dinner, my favorite kind of meal! If this CG thing doesn't work out for him I know Cracker Barrel would take him in a heart beat.

Who would have thought that this...

and this....

would turn into this...

and this..

If I ever doubted that God's plan was bigger and better than mine, my marriage is a daily reminder that we can't grasp how much the Lord really wants to just bless us. The Lord made me for Kenny and it really can't be put into words the way the Lord shows me his love through the way Kenny treats me. People always say the first year of marriage is the hardest, but so far it has been nothing but falling more in love everyday with KB.  And who knows, maybe the hard part comes in the second six months, and if that is the case bring it on. Nothing in this world is better than being married to your best friend.
