No longer MIA

Blogging friends,

I am so sorry I have been MIA for many a week now; it has been a busy holiday season already! Here is the story: I was super home sick mid November. We weren't going home for Thanksgiving and I was OK with that and ready to spend it with friends but I was still sad. So my mom said come on down for a couple days before Thanksgiving. Genius, she is. So, I did. And then a couple days into my trip Kenny decides he wants to be at home for Thanksgiving so he flies down and we have a great long trip to AL. It was the first time the dogs went on a plane and you should hear Kenny tell the story about Nelly screaming, yipping and pitching the world's largest fit. The flight attendant asked him multiple times to quiet his animals but no amount of Benadryl would calm Nelly's nerves. Anywho, we spent Thanksgiving in Ozark with his parents and his brother's family. I got to celeberate my birthday with my family and twin brother. And we watched the Alabama Crimson Tide win the Iron Bowl with the avid psycho Bama fans that are my family.

My wonderful twin. We are total opposites and we couldn't look less alike but gosh I love him so much!
I added this picture only to tell you I wish there had been a recording from this moment. The fam was singing happy bday to us but not one person in our family can carry a tune in bucket and everyone was acting like they were Josh Groban/Celine Dion. Notice half of Jake to the far right has his finger stuck in his ear and he is really putting on a show. Hysterical.
Bye Bye eating healthy. Hellllllo cookie cake.

My oh so fabulous husband. He really is the best.
And my girl. Yonny. You might be wondering what I did with so much free time in Birmingham. Answer: I spent almost every waking minute with my mom. We cleaned out rooms, decorated for Christmas, got almost all the Christmas shopping done, redid my mom's bedding, went to Pure Barre (duh), watched Criminal Minds and laughed a lot. We were attached at the hip. It was a great two weeks!!!
And there you have it. But wait. More excitement has been going on up in hurr.

As you all know, today is December 1. This is my favorite time of year, like almost to a fault. I get so caught up in Christmas lights, trees, the egg nog, and Christmas music. I just really love it. So, techincally before I left for B'ham midway through November I had already decorated a little bit. Quit judging. Quit it. Yes, I enjoyed Thanksgiving fully knowing I had hung a wreath and a ornament or two. So techincally this project was done a while ago. I got it from Pinterest. My name is Mary Margaret. I am a Pinterest-holic. It has been zero days since my last pin.

Write words on a wine bottles with hot glue.
Spray paint them white.

Added sticks from the back yard and pine cones that were back there too.

I got this sweet little sparkly church/home winter wonderland dreamy thing from TJ Maxx.  Love it.

And that was all I had put up...until yesterday! We are going home for Christmas so I couldn't bring myself to buy a really big expensive tree but I really wanted some kind of Christmas tree cheer in our home. Again, obsessed to a fault with Christmas.

 Some of my favorite ornaments:

this little guy opens up and plays a song while these little kids skate in a circle. I am such a kid.
Wait, Mary Margaret. Why is your TV in that corner? That big hunk of blue does not go there, right? Ohhhh but now it does. Why in the world would we put the TV there?....
Because we got this big daddy and he doesn't ft in our sweet blue armoire anymore! (I am not an electronics person but ever since I watched a movie on my friends Nicole's awesome, huge TV I have wanted a big, pretty TV.) I told Kenny and he jumped on board. So for a few weeks we researched them and landed on this beauty. Obviously we haven't gotten a stand yet. That is what I should be doing right now!

It is a sunny but freezing day here in VA so I am going to bundle up, walk my pups, and go TV stand shopping.

24 DAYS TIL CHRISTMAS!!
