I was feeling so accomplished that I couldn't stay in the apartment when I got back. I got in the car and did the unthinkable. I drove to Whole Foods! Kenny will tell you I love that place but I avoid it like the bubonic plague because I hate downtown and one way streets and parking garages - but not today!
So, here I am at home sipping on my smoothie with the ingredients I got at Whole Foods reading my Bible, and I am reminded of how much our Lord loves new things. For me it means new everything- new home, new friends, new places, not to mention my new husband! The Lord uses newness to create and to build. The Lord has taken us (kenny, mm, nelly) out of our comfort zone to so that Kenny and I can create a life and a marriage all of our own, depending on the Lord and each other. Heck yeah it gets lonely and boring and heck yeah I miss home but it is in our weakness that Christ can work, and moving 700 miles away has shown me just how weak a new place can make you!
Isaiah 43:18-19
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
Isaiah 42:9-11
See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare;
before they spring into being I announce them to you.” Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them
before they spring into being I announce them to you.” Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them
Love this post!! You are so right about newness and our weakness. I need to remember that!
