a day at the beach!

It is true fellow Alexandrians! There is a beach less than an hour away! Saturday was a sunny but oh so windy day, but that did not stop the Byrds! We were looking for something fun to do to get us out of the house so we wouldn't wallow in sadness because the fam was gone, and this was the perfect outing. Chesapeake Beach is about 40 minutes away and it is a quaint little town right next to the Chesapeake Bay. 

 Of course Nelly came with us and she loved it. Now that the sun is starting to come out of hiding, she rides everywhere like this.

We read about this place in a magazine and it said be sure to try their cupcakes. Well, their cupcakes looked like they bought them at the grocery store and slapped a Sweet Sue's label on them, so we just ate lunch there. It was delicious and so cheap! Life outside the city is so much better!

 It was so nice getting out of Alexandria for a few hours. People would say hello to us as we passed them walking (something very uncommon in Alexandria/DC) and we would look behind us because we were sure they weren't being kind to strangers but sure enough they were! It was very refreshing and enjoyable. We will definitely be going back there again very soon!
