Baby you're a firework!

Unfortunately for us VA folk, we are still experiencing cold weather, rain, dreary days and what have you. So, instead of taking Kenny's rocking camera outside and unleashing my mad photography skills on blooming plants, Nelly with the wind coursing through her mane and Kenny running around handsome as ever.. I have no choice but to resort to still life shots of my hot chocolate.

So yet another shot of my hot chocolate, but hopefully you can see the difference in this picture and the last one. The other one was taken with my camera on my phone.

On Saturday, we went into DC to watch the Cherry Blossom Festival fireworks show! It was over the Potomac River and before there was music and food and of course those overly expensive light up toys that if you look at long enough will cause a seizure.
Being the extremely competitive people that we are, we staked out the best seats in the house and got two chairs, that were going like hot potatoes. V I P.
A couple of awesome firework shots by the one and only Kenny Byrd-

And what blog would be complete without a video of the finale, not mine that is for sure. So ladies and gentleman, sit back and watch some fireworks. Batta bing batta boom.
The next two pictures are of how packed the metro was. There was a sense of hysteria underground waiting for our train, no lie. Everyone wanted on and people were screaming and telling people to get off because their was no room for them. And to think, people just wanted to get home. If something actually went wrong and we really needed to get out of there, well, let's just say I would not want to be there. PS- fam, made me miss riding into DC with y'all!

Nelly was a little frustrated she didn't get to go to the show, even though we told her over and over no animals were allowed on the Metro. She doesn't see herself as an animal though. My best guess is she thinks she is a princess. When we got home we were watching whatever basketball game was on and sitting on the sofa. Kenny reached over and held my hand, and Nelly who was in my lap moved to this position- she is really only happy when she has commanded full attention from both of us. She keeps us entertained, that is for sure!

Yesterday was a miracle, seriosusly, straight from the Lord miracle. I would have been less shocked if the Lord had sent a pillar of fire into our kitchen. It was 76 degrees here!!! We lived outside yesterday. When Kenny got home from work we went and sat at a park where Nelly just soaked in the rays. A picture of Nelly, what better way to end this post??

  2. Mary Margaret your blogs just get better and better and we so enjoy them.

Nelly is surrounded by much love and you can certainly tell by her cute face and actions.
You're a beautiful person Mary Margaret on the outside as well as inside and Kenny is a lucky man to have you for his life's partner.

God gives us grace each and every day.....I can't wait to see you all Friday......Love your momma Bette In Law
