White Out

Another piece of furniture bites the dust. This week I did two projects. The first thing I tackled was covering my lamp on my dresser in a neutral fabric. I picked out a burlap-ish fabric from Hancock Fabrics, who are conveniently having a half off fabric sale this month. So I spent four dollars and got way too much fabric.

The lamp was missing something (besides a shade) so I tied a piece of the fabric around the neck to give it a little more texture. I need a lamp shade still, any ideas?

So, here is a 360 of our room with the new dresser-
Sure, you are squinting to see if every single one of those pictures is of us and the answer is yes. We have a shrine in our bedroom with many different pictures of us. And we love it. So there. No telling what picture creation we will come up with we we have kids.

The next project took a little bit longer than I expected. Which, seeing as I have nothing to do, just taught me patience after painting five coats of paint on this guy. We got this corner desk for our computer for about $60 from Wal Mart. This was really the only place in the apt that the computer would fit so we had to get a desk for this spot. As you see, black, brown and white. So, it was time to get rid of the brown! Orginally we were going to stain this desk, but after seeing all muscle/man power it was going to take. I opened up my half used can of white paint from the dresser project and started lathering it up.
After painting it white I decided I wanted a cool knob to go on it. Since this project had only cost 9 bucks for the gloss finish I figured we could splurge and get an 8 dollar knob from Anthropologie.  So, today my extremely pregnant friend Whitney, (extremely as in the baby is coming next week) and her son and I went on a little morning excursion to Georgetown. We went to Anthro and of course made a pit stop for some Georgetown Cupcakes. Successful morning.

And, drum roll, please... here she is!

And the cool knob- white of course

That is all for now! We are thinking about going thrifting and finding a cool old shelf for our TV next. So far, no luck. But that is what makes these projects so fun, it's all about the hunt!

It is a beautiful day here in Alexandria, and I know a sweet little furry girl who needs a long walk and some sunshine! Have an awesome weekend!
