The next monumental thing that is more than blog worthy is I am a semi professional sewing powerhouse. I took Kenny's CG jackets to have different patches put on them a few weeks ago and I was charged an ungodly amount. It took her two minutes to put to tiny patches on and charged me $40. I burned the building down and as I walked away amidst the flames and rubble I decided I wanted to learn to sew. (Saw The Avengers while I was home, still think I can burn buildings and have superpowers, just go with it.) Kenny brought the sewing machine home when he came and my grandmother and mother in law taught me how to use it. Here she is in all her glory!
One day I spent so many hours sewing I thought I was going to develop a serious neck injury. I neglected my dogs, the sunny afternoon, and sewed my little fingers to the bone.
After hemming a dress and practicing on some scrap fabric I decided to make an apron... and boo ya!
If you were to look at this up close you would laugh, it is terribly and obviously the work of a beginner. But hey, baby steps! Yesterday I hemmed a pair of short for Kenny because he was going to throw them out because of the length. I hemmed them right up and saved the
Anywho, the biggest change that has happened in the last few weeks is Kenny is no longer a member of the Honor Guard. His two year contract is up and his new job is to purchase things for the Honor Guard. If you know Kenny at all and his addiction to all things EBay, shopping and new things you know that this job is right up his alley. He has only been doing it two days but he is loving it. Before he left the Honor Guard he got some award and I am about to put it in a frame and put it in his office, pictures to come. As of June 1st we have two more years in the CG. Time really has flown. Other than that exciting change, it has just been enjoying the sweet summertime.
Not exactly what we had in mind when we put this bird house out...
It is also the time of year for hydrangeas to bloom and I put as many as I can around the house. Nothing can brighten up your day like a hydrangea. Well except for maybe a peony.
Our garden is doing exceptionally well, considering last year you would have thought I bought tomatoes to bring them home and watch them die they did so bad. Not this year! Look at those juicy tomatoes!!
I have a bunch of little projects going on but Kenny has some extremely large and intimidating lens on the camera that I can't figure out how to work. So I will have to document them later on. I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer and staying clear of the mass amount of bugs that decided to come out and play this summer!
Love the plants they look awesome! I see the pups are watching outside for probably squirrels while you sew ..hahaha
