This weekend Kenny and I had the opportunity to go to Lewes, Deleware and stay in his mom's friend's house. It is a quaint little beach town only 3 hours away; so we packed up the pups and headed to the
beach. It was so nice to get away for a few days. The first night we went out for dinner and ate the best seafood. My thrify husband asked if they had a military discount (he does this literally everywhere) and they said no. No big deal, it was worth every penny. Then, the owner came out and asked if Kenny was active duty then said she wanted to pay for our meal and thank you for his service! It was quite the treat!
After dinner we got the pups and headed to the beach. Look at that sunset, how amazing.
The next morning we went to breakfast and of course I snapped a pic of Ken while he was trying to decide what to get and then of course a picture what we both opted for.
After breakfast we took the dogs to the farmer's market. We should have brought a pen to sign our autographs. Everyone stopped us to see Chaco. Literally, everyone. After an hour of yes, it's a dachshund, he is nine weeks old, no the big one is not his mother and his name is Chaco we were getting a little frustrated so we headed out. We just went driving to look at the houses in Lewes. This one below is my favorite! Talk about a dream house! WE went to the beach and walked in a bunch of shops and before you knew it, our stomachs were rumbling and ready for dinner.
We also went to this super cute dog store called PUPS. We got Chaco a collar and leash, it is the same place Nelly's cute cupcake collar is from. They also had headpieces for dogs because they had a royal wedding for DOGS the same day as the real royal wedding. Girl dogs dressed up in white dresses and met a well groomed boy and committed their dog life to each other. The owners dressed up and everything.... and I thought I was obsessed with Nelly! Either way I made her try on a headpiece, she wasn't to fond of it.
That night for dinner we felt we had to go to Gilligan's again because the food was so delicious and it was time to pay for dinner! We had the best cream of crab soup- here is my bowl below...
Have I ever told you about my husband's love of pepper? There are no words, just see the picture below.
We sat outside both nights and learned that you can bring dogs to Gilligan's. So night number two we brought the little man and stink pot. Bringing the dogs made everyone sitting outside act as if we were all sitting at one big table. We passed Chaco around and talked about the pups almost the entire meal.
After dinner we asked a teenager to take our picture. After taking it, she took Chaco from Kenny and would NOT give him back. She took a picture for facebook and held him forever. It got awkward, her mom couldn't make her hand Chaco over and neither could we. I walked away because Nelly was barking but she made small talk with Kenny by asking where we were from. He said Alabama. Her response was, "Oh cool can I follow you to your car to take a picture of your license plate?" Kenny said no.
The next morning we went to breakfast and took the dogs and were mobbed again by crowds of Chaco fans. Kenny put a bow on Nelly in hopes that it would help up her cuteness points.
Chaco got his new collar and they matched. How cute!
Chaco asserting his dominance...But in the end, they hugged it out
It was sad to leave but good to get back to our sweet little home. Now back to reality, where Kenny has work this week and I have to tackle potty training this little puppy of ours. Wish me luck!!
Um. I think that teenager wanted to steal Chaco. Seriously.. take a picture of your license plate? WOW.
