Labor Day was perfect here at the Byrd home. Kenny got home from work around 8 and we went to Whole Foods to get some ingredients for a recipe we talked about the night before. Windows down, dogs in our laps, and the chilly breeze blowing through our my hair, it is definitely not summer anymore. I knew it was going to be a good day.
We made Pumpkin Spice Pancakes, completely appropriate with the dark, rainy and cold weather outside. Our house still smells like nutmeg and pumpkin.
Look at him go, three at time!
A little dab of powder sugar and some syrup and of course some butter and these guys were delectable. Seriously, rush to the store and get these ingredients:
Ingredients: 1¼ cups all-purpose flour 2 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tsp. baking powder ¼ tsp. salt ¾ tsp. ground cinnamon ¼ tsp. ground nutmeg Dash of ground ginger Dash of ground cloves 1 cup milk ½ cup pumpkin puree 1 large egg 2 tbsp. vegetable oil or melted butter 1. Mix it all together and make them like you would your regular buttermilk pannies After a few hours of watching Netflix we rolled out of bed for lunch. Kenny made the Whole Foods Sonoma chicken salad. It was delicious! |
All we did yesterday was watch the U.S Open and Netflix and lay around and of course a two hour nap. We haven't had a day like that since we moved onto base! It was so nice and so needed since this weekend I am leaving to go visit my family and friends!
Happy dreary, rainy Tuesday!
The food looks De -licious! and I love that ALABAMA coffee cup! ROLL TIDE
