Roll Tide Y'all

You know it's officially Fall when college football kicks off. My family has been counting down the days since about mid December, you could say they are all a little  crazily obsessed. They can almost always be seen on TV in the student section because they are the ones screaming the loudest.
That is my twinsie Luke in the white and crimson striped shirt
And well, Jake is the one not in the Big Al outfit

All that to say, we had our weekend planned out way before it actually arrived. Wake up and watch football. And of course cookout. We slept later than we thought so we put on our AL game day T shirts and headed to the grocery store for all our cookout needs. We thought it would be a quick trip (seeing that it is game day and the grocery stores are vacant on Saturday in the great state of Alabama) we were so wrong. It was packed. And not one person had on any kind of football paraphernalia. Where ARE we?? Just one of the many ways we are reminded we aren't in Alabama anymore. That didn't rain on our parade though, don't you worry. We came home and had the Auburn game on the TV and the Alabama game on the computer, since we don't have the channel.

We grilled the Barefoot Contessa hamburger recipe I posted a few months ago, it's our favorite. We made some cheesy rice as a side and put a tomato and avocado we got last week from the farmer's market on top. It was delish.

Nothing says fall like a value sized bag of candy corn. It is only the beginning of September and we have blown through two bags. I have no self control when it comes to candy corn. My mouth is watering as I type this.

And lastly... a few dog pictures, of course. We had a little dilemma yesterday. Nelly has grown out of her Alabama cheerleader outfit, but it fit Chaco perfectly. Nelly wanted to wear something to support the Tide but we had nothing. So I tied a little Auburn bandana around her that my grandmother sent us. She refused to move (again with the whole teenager attitude thing) so we took it off. Whoa! Auburn and Alabama crazzzzy right? Not really. I went to Auburn, loved it had the best four years there. A big War Eagle to that. But, grew up an Alabama fan, can't teach an old dog new tricks, so Roll Tide my friends.

Kenny has duty today so that is why I have time to just blog away about our Saturday. He has tomorrow off though so we still get two days together! I am going home and to Auburn next weekend and I cannot wait to see my friends and family and of course my Sweet Home Alabama.

Hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend!!
