I have really not been in the mood to blog over the last couple of months, you might have noticed. Although, now I seem to be getting my groove back. I started this blog as a way to communicate to friends and family all about our life in Virginia. The other day I was looking back on my blogs from forever ago and I just had the best time remembering places, and meals, and memories that I had forgotten. So I decided to be more intentional about blogging because one day when I'm old I will make my grandkids sit down and read every word of it aloud to me.
That being said, Kenny and I went on a date I never want to forget, so it seems appropriate to blog about it. Now, I don't know what you consider a date. If it is you two jumping in the car and heading to the cheapest, yummy-est, greasiest Mexican food place around, then we go on dates once (if not twice) a week. But, to me this is how a date should be done-
So, weeks upon weeks ago, Kenneth told me get showered and dressed we are going to eat somewhere. (The shower part is key there- it means we aren't going for Mexican where you can look like a bum so look a little presentable.) I was so thrilled. He came home and I was smelling like roses, well technically Wonderstruck by Taylor Swift. PLEASE DON'T JUDGE ME. Kenny got ready and we headed into town. We stop at Georgetown and Kenny tells me we are going to this place called Mie N Yu, yes you say it like me and you. My friend Nicole told us about this place and we have been wanting to try it for a while and sure enough, there we were.
(photos stolen with a vengeance from their website)
Here we are before dinner came out-
After a delicious meal, we were craving something sweet and we had heard the touristy place was Georgetown cupcakes but if you really want the best cupcakes head on over to Baked and Wired. So we started walking that way. But, on the way we stumbled upon my new favorite store, LUSH. I came to love Lush about three days before this date. Nicole took me with her to the mall and introduced me to the world of fabulousness. Lush makes their own cosmetic products from fresh and organic fruits, vegetables, and essential oils. They make the best soaps, shampoo and conditioner, face cleansers, lotions, toners, and bath bombs. If you want to know more, and you really should, click right up in hurr. Alabamians there is not a store in the state, but you can order online. I think it is very fairly priced too.
So I start foaming at the mouth as we walk into the most magnificent of stores. Adrenaline pumping through my body, I walk into the store and point to the first Lush consultant I see, and scream, "YOU! Come here!" She points at herself like, who? me? And gladly walks my way. I had her walk Kenny through the store and after a little lecture, he was sold on Lush, too.
Then, Kenneth looks at me and says, "Pick out anything you want." The angels started singing the Halleljuah chorus and I got busy. I took him very seriously on his offer and started throwing everything in my basket. After an hour of shopping and picking the Lush people's brains, we checked out and headed on our way, looking for some cupcakes. To our dismay, we spent so long in Lush that Baked and Wired had closed, but nothing could rain on our parade. So we went over to Sprinkles for some cupcakes, a perfect way to end the perfect date.
Best. Date. Ever. That is what I said at least 100 times that night. It was so special and I am still reeling in the most awesome and wonderful date, mainly because I use my Lush stuff about three times a day. PS- I stole all these pictures from the internet, I didn't take the 20 pound camera on our date.
Thrilling, I know. If you want to talk some about Lush, holla atcha girl. I could talk about it all day.
TGIF!!!
Kenny is like his dad in so many of the wonderful ways. I am always feeling eternally spoiled! And now I see you are too. They will give up the last wing if you want it!......hahha I loved the date and it sounded like so much fun...being married to someone you love so dearly is a God given experience and blessing!......love mamma Byrd
ReplyDeleteWould love to know what LUSH products you bought that are facial cleansing related. I've been considering buying some but would love to hear firsthand from someone that had already used them.
