This week has been super short. Kenny had Monday and Tuesday off and he got off early today to take the MAT test for grad school. He is taking it right this second! Say a quick prayer that he passes! On Wednesday I literally sat at the kitchen table from 9-5 working on a honeymoon scrapbook. Not our honeymoon. A girl Kenny went to boot camp with doesn't have time to do it because she is off getting ready for Officer School- such like S U C H a big deal for all you civilians out there, so I am doing it. The only downside is our kitchen table is rendered useless for the next few weeks.
Also to celebrate the 4th we went over to our friends Kat and Zack's for some delicious food and fun, really fun times. Nothing like spending the 4th with a bunch of military men + their wives, that is for sure! The next day we went kayaking. There is a pretty recreation center on Fort Belvoir, so we decided to take advantage of it. Since I couldn't take my camera to document, basically what you missed was us surrounded by a bunch of boats and seadoos and getting smacked by their waves. We loved it. We pretended we were the stars of a National Geographic show called Wave Chasers and we rowed as fast as we could into the waves and got soaked. Ok, fine I pretended I was on the show while Kenny just laughed and kept trying to flip the kayak every time I busted out in song. He really loves my singing!
After our high risk, high drama, high energy telvision filming we found some awesome driftwood and some cool shells to steal, well yeah steal. One issue- the shells reeeeeeked. So, I dumped them in a bucket with lots of clorox. Not only did it take the horrible stench out it took off the brown layer of gunk that was on them. Double whammy. Before-
After-
And there you have it, as you can tell we are in total beach mode.
And last but not least, while I was waiting for Kenny to come home from work yesterday (yes all three of us wait outside for his car to pull in the driveway, excited much?) I thought our home looked super sweet, so I snapped a pic. We really love living here. I am going to miss this place!
Poor Chaco, thinking about leaving here and moving somewhere else is too much. He can't take it!
I think I sense I driftwood project in the near future. Ps- your decorating skills are out of control, do you give lessons?
