Two nights in a row Kenny and I did something other than our usual eat an early dinner, walk our dogs, play a round of tennis, watch our favorite shows and go to sleep early. We are 80 year olds trapped in our 20-something year old bodies. But, two of our favorites were in DC this week. T Swift, as you already know, and the Legg Mason tennis tournament. We went to see the semi finals last night. John Isner vs James Blake. Kenny was pulling for Isner. I was pulling for Blake. It was a thrilling match and Isner just barely beat Blake in a close tie breaker. Great match. For the first part of the match we stole some seats right next to the tunnel where they came out.

Kenny craning his head to peer into the tunnel. Yep. Tennis. Fanatic. |

Just a shot to show you how (frighteningly) tall John Isner is |

Ended the day with a key lime cupcake from Georgetown Cupcakes. Complete with tennis ball.

Back at home, time moves a lot slower than in the intensity of the city, well except for maybe the traffic. Which is nice, there is some kind of tangible heaviness that falls on you when you are in DC. When you leave it feels like you have lost five pounds. Anywho, I am still having a problem purchasing everything I see with a bird on it. I think it all started a couple of years ago when I pledged Chi O and bought everything with an owl on it. I'll probably never kick this addiction and I am OK with it. Strolled through Home Goods the other day. I hadn't planned on getting anything, but you know you can't leave that store empty handed. Found this little doo-dah. He was on sale for $4. I took it as a sign from the heavens and headed home to put him up next to our side door. Now Kenny can't find his keys because I have hung them on the hook. We are still working on that.
Also, this is the part of the blog you really want to read. Kenny came across this recipe on Pinterest (of course) and I made them a couple of weeks ago. Since then I have made them about 10 times. They are sweet. They are filling. And they are healthy, that's right. No sugar. No guilt.
combine in bowl:
1/2 c. honey
1/2 c. peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
1 c. dry milk
1 c. uncooked oats
Such an easy recipe and trust me it is one you want in your recipe book for when you are craving something sweet but don't want to eat an 800 calorie treat. Enjoy!
Aaaaaand I think I'll be making those treats!
